Trail Overview - 24 km (15 mi) - Near Hibbing, MN

Carey Lake Cross Country Ski trails comprise nearly 24 km (15 mi) of groomed cross country skiing. The terrain is mostly easy to moderate with a few short, steeper segments. There is a mix of tracked and skate trails. See the map for more details.

Just 3.6 Miles from Hibbing, MN

The trails are located 3.6 miles east of Hwy 169 (Beltline), on Dupont Road, Hibbing.

Trail Maps

Current maps of the Carey Lake Ski Trail System are now available. These maps show the new trails, including the trail cut in during the fall of 2010 that bypasses the Dupont building and paved roads. You can now ski the entire Lakeview Trail without leaving nicely groomed ski trails.

Parking

There are two parking lots to park at, lots P1 & P2. Which one you choose will depend on where you want to start and end your ski from.

This year the Carey Lake Ski Challenge will be held on February 15, 2025. There are three “challenge” options. Participate as a “race” or just “for fun”.
